Five Steps to Remove Lockout and Tagout

Five Steps to Remove Lockout and Tagout
Step 1: Inventory tools and remove isolation facilities;
Step 2: Check and count personnel;
Step 3: Remove lockout/tagout equipment;
Step 4: Notify relevant personnel;
Step 5: Restore equipment energy;
Precautions

1. Before returning the equipment or pipeline to its owner, it must be confirmed whether it is safe to introduce hazardous energy or materials into the equipment or pipeline;
2. Check to confirm the integrity of the pipeline or equipment, including leak testing, pressure testing, and visual inspection.
3. The supervisor lock, label and group lock are reserved until the end of the work.
(Note: The supervisor lock is always the first one to hang up and the last one to take it off)
4. Personal locks and tags are only valid for one shift or one working period.
5. Before the repair and maintenance personnel have not completed the work, but need to remove the lock, they should put up the attention label, indicating the condition of the working equipment, and apply for the supervisor lock and label at the same time.
6. In the case of simple personal locking, when a job is not completed as scheduled before the shift, the operator’s lock and tag should be hung up before the operator’s lock and tag are removed.
