WELKEN Portable Lockout Boxes (BD-8811, BD-8812, BD-8813): Essential Solutions for Group Lockout Safety
Ensuring team safety during complex machinery maintenance relies on strict energy isolation and secure key control. WELKEN’s portable lockout boxes—BD-8811, BD-8812, and BD-8813—offer robust, customizable solutions for both individual management and multi-person group lockouts in demanding industrial environments.
Built to endure tough operational settings, all three models are manufactured from high-strength carbon steel. Compact yet spacious, each unit measures 260 mm (L) × 103 mm (W) × 152 mm (H), offering ideal portability across job sites. While high-visibility safety red serves as the standard finish, custom yellow or brown coatings are available upon request to suit localized facility identification systems.
The core functional purpose of a portable lockout box is to secure access to master keys during group servicing. The process follows a systematic isolation workflow:
- ➤Key Centralization: Each lockout point on the target machine is secured with its own padlock. The keys to these padlocks are then collected and deposited inside the portable lockout box.
- ➤Securing the Box: Every technician or authorized worker assigned to the task attaches their personal safety padlock to the box’s outer lock holes.
- ➤Controlled Access: The keys inside remain physically inaccessible while work is underway. Maintenance equipment cannot be restarted until the job is fully completed and padlocks are cleared.
The series offers three distinct configurations tailored to different operational structures:
-
BD-8811 (Single-Lock Control): Featuring a single lock hole, the BD-8811 is engineered for direct, single-person management or dedicated supervisor control. It ensures straightforward safety enforcement when multi-person locking is not required.
-
BD-8812 (13-Hole Multi-Person Co-Management): Outfitted with 13 lock holes, the BD-8812 is designed for collaborative team operations. The internal keys remain locked and protected inside the box until the very last worker removes their personal padlock, preventing premature energy restoration.
-
BD-8813 (13-Hole Visual Co-Management): Sharing the 13-hole capacity of the BD-8812, the BD-8813 incorporates a durable transparent side panel. This clear window enables instant visual verification of interior contents and stored keys without opening the box, enhancing transparency during complex group lockouts.
By offering targeted functional options, the BD-8811, BD-8812, and BD-8813 series helps facilities maintain rigorous safety standards and safeguard personnel across all maintenance procedures.
